Thomas Town at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Follow the construction project as Discovery Kingdom made itself one of the premiere Six Flags' parks in 2007. March 23: The construction site for Thomas Town was nothing more than dirt, bolts, and dead trees. March 23: Heavy construction equipment was located where the Ferris Wheel once stood. April 29: Track work for Thomas had been completed. May 12: Form work for the foundations had begun to be built. May 18: Framing work was underway for the station and gift shop. June 20: Thomas Town was open for the public to enjoy. June 20th: The first riders board Thomas. June 26: Thomas Town officially opens with the press onhand.
