HARD ROCK PARK AND GIBSON PARTNER TO UNVEIL

WORLD’S LARGEST GIBSON GUITAR ICON

(Myrtle Beach, SC – January 23, 2008) – The rock ‘n’ roll world’s most innovative and trusted guitar manufacturer is making a larger than life impression on the world’s first rock ‘n’ roll theme park. Hard Rock Park unveiled an unprecedented partnership announcing Gibson Guitar as the Park’s official music sponsor and supplier.

As part of this multi-faceted partnership, Gibson Guitar will most notably be celebrated in the center of the Park, where a spectacular 70-foot tall guitar icon, the world’s largest Gibson guitar, will tower over the Hard Rock Park lagoon. The interactive icon will be a feature in the spectacular laser and fireworks show every evening at the Park. The icon will sit on a 600 square-foot Gibson retail store and gallery which will make the whole structure tower 90 feet in the air. Park-goers will be able to purchase a variety of Gibson branded products and check out a display of one-of-a-kind Gibson guitars, including the new, Gibson Robot Guitar, an automatic tuning guitar. The store will feature a special hand rail imprinted with a timeline of Gibson’s history, and the interior is designed in such a way that guests will feel as though they are actually entering the inside of a guitar.

“We are proud and honored to have Gibson Guitar’s support,” said Steven Goodwin, CEO of Hard Rock Park.  “Gibson has truly defined the look, sound and feel of rock ‘n’ roll and their innovation has inspired countless artists and music genres, many of which are represented right here in this Park.”

Gibson will also make its mark on the All Access Entry Plaza area of the Park by way of the Gibson Guitar Plaza, a 248-foot long promenade designed as a replica Gibson Vegas High Roller guitar, whose base extends into the lagoon making a perfect sight-seeing deck, accented with Gibson guitar handrails, for the whole Park. In addition, many interactive opportunities for guests are planned by Gibson Guitar.

“What an honor to partner with the Hard Rock Park and to create a musical experience for guests which is unprecedented in the industry,” said Henry Juszkiewicz, Chairman and CEO of Gibson Guitar. “The Park will provide unique music-related memories and the thrill of attractions and shows to guests worldwide.”

Opening in May 2008, Hard Rock Park will be an approximately 55-acre theme park boasting more than 40 attractions for rockers of all ages, including roller coasters, live shows, interactive displays children’s play areas, restaurants, cafes and retail stores, a multi-purpose live music amphitheatre, and ultra-modern sound system specifically developed for the project, creating a totally immersive full day experience.
