Poll Results: February 2007

The results are in for the February poll, and Six Flags Great Adventure has topped out as the Six Flags park with the best wooden coasters. I’m sure that El Toro had a lot to do with the results, as it is considered by many to be the best wooden coaster in the United States.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom came in second with their wooden coaster, Roar. Theme Park Village does have quite a large contingency of DK fans, but I still think Roar is quite a fun wooden coaster. It is my personal favorite wooden coaster on the west coast, no doubt.

Here are the other results:

Be sure to vote in this month's poll, Which Six Flags park has had the biggest improvement during the Shapiro Era? I have a feeling Magic Mountain and Discovery Kingdom will be battling this one out.

The following is the first official Network Update, a new feature that will bring more frequent park updates to Theme Park Village. For more information, please visit our Message Boards.

On Thursday Busch Entertainment Company (BEC) announced that they have reached a deal with Nakheel, one of the worlds largest privately held real estate developers, to bring all four of Worlds of Discoveries parks to the super city of Dubai. Nakheel has been key to the transformation of Dubai from a coastal fishing town to one of the fastest growing cities in the world.

Unlike other parks and deals, B.E.C. will not have to spend the capital to create the mega park, that will rest solely on Nakheel, but instead will provide the license to the parks, and over see in the development of attractions and training for the parks. The parks will occupy "The Crown" of The Palm Jebel Ali, a completely manmade island of sand and rock. The crown will also be a man made island in the shape of a Killer Whale. Design work and planning is already underway with the first stage being scheduled to open in 2012.

Just something I noticed last weekend while at Disneyland. The above picture is of a "blank sign" in Toon Town. The photo was taken in August 2005.
