Astro Orbitor at Disneyland

The rumors are circling the internet about recent photos appearing from Disneyland. It appears as though the Astro Orbiter at the entrance of Tomorrowland is going under a much more extensive overhaul than first thought. All of the rockets and the ornamental structure have been removed from the ride.

The rocket ride was removed from its perch above the midway during the 1998 re-launch of Tomorrowland. It was relocated to the entrance of the area where it has led to a traffic flow bottleneck.

Any ideas on what could be going on with Astro Orbiter?

Roar at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom's 10th Anniversary
Roar at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is turning 10 next weekend! The Great Coasters International designed wooden coaster is attributed for being the first modern coaster to feature Millennium Flyer trains. Now almost standard on wooden coasters, Millennium Flyers helped launch wooden coasters into the 21st century.

Discovery Kingdom will celebrate the 10th anniversary by having moms and their ten year
olds riding Roar ten times in a row. This of course is in honor of both Roar’s anniversary and Mother’s Day. For more information, read the press release or visit sixflags.com/discoverykingdom.
